Enjoy the crackling woodstove in the Common Room of our renovated Century old barn. From the split granite field stone hearth to the beautiful split lava stone floor mined from the ancient Canadian Shield, attention to details are everywhere. Filled with unique antiques and lots of books about local history and our Canadian Hero, Sir Samuel Steele, you will find this room a cozy way to relax and meet other Inn guests from around the world. |

A Bit of Background - We have lived on our beef cattle farm in the rolling hills of Medonte since 1973. This is the land where the famous Canadian Mountie, Sir Samuel Steele was born and raised. Many books have been written on him and his famous exploits. Our theme in our inn is the Canadian Mounties with many books and collectibles scattered throughout the inn. We worked for five years to convert this barn into the surprising and pleasing guest Inn that it is now. With careful renovation, we have preserved most of the hand-hewn beams and some of the original barn boards creating a true step into the past. We have a separate residence. Our guests enjoy their privacy but will be lavished with attention at a moment's notice. We have a full range of brochures on local events and spots to visit. Lots to do in our Land of Lakes! Our full breakfast is always fresh and plentiful, often including produce from our own large gardens and homemade preserves.

Homegrown fresh produce and preserves are included in our full breakfast served in our dining room. A field stone hearth and one-of-a-kind antiques fill this room with interest and conversation. Our daughter's banana bread and light tea biscuits are a favourite of our guests. Seasonal blueberries are served alone or atop a piping hot Belgian Waffle. |
