Penticton Fast Facts and Information
The name Penticton is a "Place to visit all the time" in a translation from the local Salish Nation. It is now a community of 31,909 (2006 census).Established in 1908, Penticton is located in the South Okanagan between Okanagan Lake on the north and Skaha Lake on the south. Naramata, Okanagan Falls, Kaleden and Summerland all share 'our' two lakes and are within a 20 minute drive. The largest neighbouring community is Kelowna which is a one hour's drive north. The Canada/USA border is one hour south.
With more than 20 wineries located along the eastern Naramata Bench and numerous beaches, golf courses, and outdoor pursuits, Penticton is ideally suited for re-creation and vacation.
