Explore Montreal Island

By request of Guests

Package I. A great way to familiarize yourself to the lay out of Montreal Island and its attractions!

Your host will chauffeur guests (up to 3 adults max) on a 3-hour guided tour from Manoir Lakeshore Manor, along the scenic river route from Dorval into the Port/Old Montreal, then on to the downtown and Mile-end/Plateau area, with the final destination being the top of Mont Royal Terrace Lookout.  A savoury picnic lunch is included. Views of the St. Lawrence Seaway and southern mountains of the Adirondacks and Appalachian Mountains (weather permitting) are spectacular.

Package II. Explore the West Island

Starting in Lachine, your host will take you on a guided tour through the history of the fur trade, development of the St. Lawrence Seaway, driving along Lakeshore - a waterfront drive that concludes in the quaint parochial village of Ste. Anne De Bellevue with its boardwalks along the canal locks to view the entry to the Ottawa River, and home to McGill's Agricultural Campus/Eco Habitat/Arboretum.  After savoring a picnic lunch provided, your host will guide you along the north shore of the West Island past famed Senneville's farm estate properties, on through the historic hamlet of Ste. Genvieve and back to Dorval via Hwy 20.  Additonal $$$ for trips that include prolonged stop off at individual sites.

Package III. Explore the East End of Montreal Island

Experience the "state-of-the-art" elevated "Metropolitan Freeway", completed in 1964, from Dorval all the way to Ville D'Anjou.  Exit Hwy 40 for Parc Bout-de-l'Isle and proceed to the very end of the island to observe the easterly flow of the St. Lawrence River on past the Boucherville Islands.  A savoury lunch is provided. The return trip follows Rue Notre Dame past the Refineries Port, through Old Montreal and along the Lachine Canal, back to Dorval.

Package IV. Kayaking on Lac St. Louis and St. Lawrence River

Your host is an avid kayaker who likes to share her love of the sport in a relaxing setting within the bays of the West Island on Lac St. Louis.  Her favourite trip begins at the end of her street via public access launch to the lake.  On calm days, a paddle around Dorval, Bushy and Dixie Islands is a must! Additional $$$ for kayak and equipment rentals. Guests must be intermediate kayakers and/or good swimmers.
