Quebec City bed and breakfast B&B Maison Historique James Thompson Our home was built in 1793 and it situated within the fortified walls of famous Vieux Québec.  It is classified as an Historic Monument by the Government of Québec.

Our tastefully decorated guest rooms have Queen-sized beds for your comfort.  We offer a room with one Queen-sized bed, another with one Queen-sized bed and one single bed and the third room has two Queen-sized beds. Our entire home is protected by a well maintained fire detection system that is monitored all the time.
For your added comfort, we have installed an air quality system into our house that will automatically mico filter the air in the home and exchange it every two hours.  This system not only provides a pollen/dust reduced environment, it also keeps the temperature comfortable , even during the hottest summer days, or coldest nights we endure.

We have tried to keep the flavour and atmosphere of the time that James Thompson and his family enjoyed as much as possible.  However, for those with more modern tastes, there is also a common entertainment room for your enjoyment equipped with satellite television,  VCR, DVD and a selection of video cassettes and DVDs. We also provide free high speed internet access.

A full-course breakfast is served in our dining room at your choice of time.

The breakfast menu includes:
  • Juices
  • Fresh Fruit Cocktail
  • Home-baked bread, muffins and croissants
  • a very wide selection of cereals
  • jams and honey
  • tea, coffee, milk or hot chocolate.

Our entrées include Wild Blueberry Pancakes, French Toast, Eggs, Waffles......or another of our original specialties.

We know that you will enjoy Vieux Québec.  The charm and romance of this beautiful city is world renowned.  Our home is in the heart of the Old City.  Most of the historical sites are within a very short walk from our home.  Shopping, fine dining, recreational paths and other entertainment are all just steps from our door. Greg is a licensed city tour guide and Guitta is a working artist. Greg will take the necessary time to show you on a picture map the must sees in the city. We are sure you will enjoy the original artwork throughout our home.

Above all, our aim is to make your stay with us so enjoyable that you will return to visit us regularly ......and to sincerely recommend us to others.

Our rates are in Canadian dollars and payment is accepted anytime during your stay.

Reservation Policy: We work in cash/traveller's cheques and on the honour system. We ask our guest to honour confirmation and if they must cancell due to an emergency, they give us as much notice as possible.

Cancellation Policy: We ask that guests only seek confirmation if they are sure that they will be arriving and departing on the dates agreed to. Once we confirm a room, each and every request that follows for that room is denied and many of those people who contacted us and were refused were past guests or referrals. Most, book well in advance, few just days before arriving. Some assume since larger hotels usually demand 2 days notice of a cancellation, that should be fine with us too! We have a very small number of rooms and the income from each allows us to keep our prices reasonable. If highways are closed due to storms etc., we accept the loss. We hate taking a loss though because 97 year old uncle so&so died,or Quebec city was a lot farther then they had planned for. Most who ask us to confirm, actually stay. If we confirm a room and the unexpected happens, we expect that the guest will help shoulder some of the financial loss especially if only a day or two notice is given.
