With the addition of a fully equipped kitchen, our Four Star Canada Select B&B has been converted into a Four Star Canada Select Guest House. The property is nestled in a secluded valley at the end of Doyle's Road, (but only 2 km from the Cabot Trail and Margaree Forks). The Guest House is located across the driveway from the main house. You can see this building in the pictures on this page. The bedrooms, each with four piece bathrooms 'ensuite', are upstairs. The main floor includes the kitchen as well as a common room that is excellent for relaxing, reading or watching Satellite T.V., (Star Choice). A computer offering high speed Internet access is available at no charge to our guests as is high speed wireless connectivity for those bringing their own laptops! This, along with our unlimited free calling 24/7 to US and Canada makes it a great place to keep in touch with home!
The Guesthouse can accommodate up to six people. One bedroom contains a Queen sized bed the other a twin bed with a pull our futon/couch that comfortably can sleep 2. As indicated before, each room has a private four piece bathroom.
Our property is an excellent location to come and go as one pleases, accessing the numerous beaches and whale excursions along the Gulf Coast or day tripping to hiking trails in the Highlands, visiting the Highland Village, taking one of the Puffin Tours out of Englishtown or Seal Island or travelling to and from Fortress Louisburg.
For those so inclined, trout are still available to catch yourself, (or purchase from us), and can be cooked on the Guest House BBQ! Rather eat out? Treat yourself to a wonderful deli-style lunch at the Dancing Goat or the local Margaree Lodge and, in the evening, during the season, dine at one of the fine restaurants in the area. We would be happy to make recommendations!

Ask for extra information on Cape Breton Island when you do so!
For those planning summer travel, please be aware that there is a lot to do and see on Cape Breton. The biggest complaint guests make is that they left too little time to really see what is on offer. Roads are twisty with a view around every turn, hiking trails abound, waterfalls call, beaches beckon. Whale watching, puffin tours, kayaking all are available within scenic day trips. And remember, music, particulary Celtic Style music, is very much a part of Cape Breton culture, especially here in Inverness County. Indeed, during the summer, there is a music venue somewhere in the County virtually every day, be it a Ceilidh, dance or concert! However, IMHO, the Three Fiddlers Ceilidh at the Barn is the best! It is on Friday nights in June, Sept. and Oct. and Wed. nights in July and August. Should you only be able to spend one night in Margaree, make it a night when you can get to the Ceilidh!
